As Director, Global Advanced Process Technologiesyou can take your career to the next level with us. This challenging role will be key in leading a global team that plans and executes projects in the implementation of new and novel manufacturing machinery and equipment to be used for the production of new and existing banknotes, substrate, and security features.

 

We are seeking a proven leader who is familiar with evaluating the potential and practicality of products in development and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The right candidate should have experience leading a team that can define, specify and implement new capital equipment across the business, from initial concept through equipment installation and scale-up in production environment ensuring that all project deliverables are delivered in a quality, timely and cost-effective manner. This individual will be based in either Nashua, NH or Hal Far, Malta.

Responsibilities:

  • Build a global organization of core talent in critical technology areas including vision systems, paper and pulp, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Define, specify, and review manufacturing needs against commercially available alternative equipment, and make recommendations for make vs. buy approaches.
  • Manages cross-functional development teams including R&D, process engineering, and operations, to develop new manufacturing equipment within the approved project plan.
  • Uses a phase gated development framework to efficiently complete the tasks required to meet overall capability, quality, cost, and timeline goals.
  • Standardize equipment to deploy across all sites as appropriate.
  • Utilizes business acumen skills to understand the true business needs and define project scope.
  • Develops and implements work plans for the cross-functional development teams to ensure that project objectives are met within the time allowed by the overall schedule.
  • Facilitates meaningful and constructive exchange of ideas and knowledge; applies extra effort as required to meet project goals.
  • Communicates within project teams all functional responsibilities and project status.
  • Utilizes knowledge of cross functional organization to drive all tasks to completion.
  • Develops team members and coaches them to perform to high levels. Provides constructive feedback for development.
  • Maintains project metrics for accurate project status communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering; Masters preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years in a leadership or program management role required.
  • Portfolio Management of large technology programs.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred; six sigma green or black belt a plus.
  • Proven track record of innovation in machine or equipment design.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects including scheduling and budgeting.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple activities and projects.
  • Strategic vision and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead others without formal authority while maintaining effective work relationships.
  • Track record of driving high performance product and teams globally.
  • Process orientation; demonstrated ability to develop repeatable processes or improve existing processes in and out of product development.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Open and collaborative style; must be comfortable working in an environment where ideas are shared and challenged.
  • Energy and enthusiasm; willing to be held accountable and willing to hold others accountable.
