As the Electrical Engineer, you can take your career to the next level with us. In this key position, you will play an important role planning, design, cost estimating, budgeting, scheduling and installation supervision of electrical projects for our Dalton facility. You will also be responsible for managing projects dealing with basic and complex systems for pulp, paper and security feature production at all Crane facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Designs, plans, cost estimates, prepares/submits budgets, initiates projects and schedules and supervises equipment installations to ensure safe, satisfactory operation.
  • Provides support to the Process Control and Maintenance groups.
  • In a supervisory capacity, directs or assists Maintenance personnel and contractor labor engaged in projects to ensure that Corporate Safe Work Policies and OSHA standards are followed.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of installations and construction with manufacturing supervision, maintenance supervision, suppliers, contractors and other departments.
  • Informs manufacturing supervision as well as Engineering supervision of project progress on a regular basis.
  • Follows through with manufacturing to ensure that equipment is performing satisfactorily
  • Supports manufacturing to find the best solution for a particular circumstance in order to maintain manufacturing quality, production and safety.
  • Project activities include communications with electrical utilities, suppliers and contractors; negotiating prices and deliveries with vendors of equipment and services; providing information for cost justifications and applying equipment designs for production systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical/ Power Distribution.
  • 5 or more years of experience with power distribution and drive systems.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of pulp and papermaking processes, including finishing, and associated equipment.
  • Five years’ experience as a Project Manager, managing electrical/electronic projects involving multiple disciplines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to prepare and manage budgets.
  • Ability to generate and evaluate technical specifications for electrical systems.
  • Excellent ability to define, troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with personnel at all levels within an organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, tact and diplomacy at all levels for dealing with suppliers and building/leading teams.

 

The person selected for this position will need to demonstrate suitability for employment in a position of Public Trust consistent with our US Government contract requirements.
