Crane is looking for an Operations Security Supervisor for our Dalton, MA facility. As a security expert, you understand that safety is paramount. Showcase your track record of excellence as you oversee the day-to-day supervision of all security personnel, as well as assisting in ensuring security of product, equipment and systems and work to protect building, premises and personnel. This position is ideal for those with a police or military background, as well as the ability to train and develop security staff.   • Train, mentor and supervise employees.
  • Act as a senior management representative during off hours to identify and correct issues in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Maintaining frequent contact with security department employees as well as production and production support employees.
  • Review paperwork and ensure continuity of operations is maintained.
  • Compile reports for tour routes, card access programming, and payroll.
  • Coordinate special events, visitors or unusual mill activities, ensuring all security measures are followed.
  • Coordinate trucking access with Shipping and Receiving as required.
  • Write and maintain job procedures for security positions. Report problems to responsible parties and follow-up to ensure repairs.
  • Provide visible leadership to employees; clearly communicate relevant information, coach to maintain and enhance a well-trained, motivated workforce to perform at the highest level.
  • Maintain a safe working environment; focus employees on workplace safety.
  • Act as a change agent in an established process to promote innovative and creative ideas and solutions to solve problems or improve the process.
  • Ensure that operations meet expected performance standards through frequent and routine interaction with operations staff.
  • Act as Incident Commander for any serious incidents that arise during shift and coordinate response efforts until properly relieved. Lead or assist in any Incident Investigations required by Safety Policy as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate’s Degree (BS preferred) or Certified in Security Supervision and Management (CSSM) or attainment of certification within 12 months of appointment
  • Minimum of five years of experience in security or law enforcement. Candidates possessing a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Security or an equivalent field can substitute four years of experience. Candidates with an Associate’s Degree in these fields can substitute two years of experience.
  • Must have completed and show evidence of completion of FEMA National Incident Management System (NIMS).
  • Must be proficient, or demonstrate ability to learn Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Communicate across the organization and with external customers, vendors, etc.
  • Ability to remain calm and interact effectively in high stress situations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, extended hours, weekends and holidays, as required.
  • Ability to direct, influence and lead employees with no direct authority.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts Class “A” firearms permit or a restricted Massachusetts Class "A" firearms permit, with the intention of obtaining an unrestricted permit within 120 days of accepting the position, and meet safety and firearms qualification requirements
  • Must possess a MA Driver’s License to operate company vehicles.


Desired:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is desired.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM) is desired.
