Crane is looking for a Supervisor of Security Systems for our Dalton, MA facility. As a security expert, you understand that safety is paramount. In this position, you will be able to showcase your track record of excellence as you oversee the site’s security management system, processes and electronic security systems, including emergency practices, personnel security, and physical security. You will manages site projects that provide solutions to integrate various systems and processes into a single collaborative program. This position is ideal for those with a police or military background, as well as the ability to train and develop security staff. Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead efforts to maintain and enhance the security management system and serve as point of contact for audits.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and system administrator for all security systems at the site. Interface with IT to ensure appropriate use of corporate infrastructure and resources.
  • Perform risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend strategies for their mitigation. Perform site audits and conduct incident investigations.
  • Serve as a back-up in the absence of the Security Manager and perform other duties and responsibilities as needed to fulfill the local organization’s mission.
  • Assess the physical security of Crane employees, assets and its products by advocating, recommending, and implementing changes in Crane’s policies and procedures.
  • Function as the lead for all major security projects planned and initiated at the site.
  • Promote the use of Lean Six Sigma to drive improvements in safety, quality, and productivity by engaging employees through continuous improvement.

 

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS in Criminal Justice, Security (or equivalent field) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification or attainment within 12 months of appointment.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant functional experience required, preferably in corporate security, law enforcement or military security. At least two years should be in a security systems or project management role.
  • Ability to develop, evaluate policies and practices and internal controls considering emerging technologies and industry best practices and incorporate them as appropriate.
  • Strong communication project management skills, the ability to think strategically within a multi-disciplinary team and interact successfully with leaders of the site and company.
  • Driver’s license and means to travel to division/company locations. Travel up to 10% both domestic and international.  Ability to travel at a moment’s notice.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position. Must be able to pass the company prescribed initial and annual Physical Fitness Test. Medical certification will be required to assure the physical capabilities of job performance.
  • Must possess a current, valid Firearms Permit with no restrictions.
  • In depth knowledge of electronic security systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Proven project management and personnel leadership experience/skill.
  • Required to obtain certification as a Process Excellence Practitioner or Six Sigma Green Belt.

Desired:

  • Certified in Security Supervision and Management (CSSM) is highly desired.
