Do you want to be a key team player with the fastest growing currency supplier in the world? Crane Currency in Nashua, NH is looking for a Process Development Engineer to join our R&D team. Drawing upon your expertise, you will be responsible for providing sound, well researched and analyzed recommendations and implementation of continuous improvements to the production processes, methods and controls. This position is ideal for engineers interested in developing technical solutions, and implementing a path to optimize processes and product performance. In this role, you will help to develop Crane's next generation technology. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct experimental work, analyze/interpret the results, document and report on results.
  • Take appropriate action to achieve established goals resulting in the development of new or refined formulations, chemical systems, application methods, processes, and products. 
  • Support commercial launch of products and generate the appropriate technical data to demonstrate product and manufacturing performance.
  • Organize experiments from evaluating raw materials to production trials through the final product testing.
  • Provide a smooth transition of products from development into manufacturing.
  • Continuously improve existing processes.  
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to optimize manufacturing process to improve volume, quality and yields and ensure completion of all required documentation before transfer.
  • Champion safety in carrying out all responsibilities.
  • Conduct experiments in the lab and on production equipment for product and process development.
  • Maintain and closely guard trade secret information; investigate patents and intellectual property value of new concepts.

 

 


 

Qualifications

  • BS Chemical Engineering or similar discipline in Engineering. 
  • 5 years of experience in Process Engineering. Experience in R&D and the printing, coating or web processing industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or working on critical, high-visibility projects with the ability to influence and lead others without formal authority, while maintaining effective working relationships and managing self-directed projects.
  • Must have a scientific curiosity and communication skills, in written, spoken and delivery of presentations, and the ability to clearly and concisely transfer technical information cross-functionally and to the broader organization.
  • Great attention to detail.  
  • Proficient in data analysis and able to draw conclusions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, as well as written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas and results clearly and succinctly, and interact with a variety of personalities both inside and outside the company.
  • High energy and ability to function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and follow through on commitments with a tenacious approach to solving problems.
