Do you want to be a key team player with the fastest growing currency supplier in the world? Crane Currency in Nashua, NH is looking for a Senior Product Engineer to serve as a technical expert and provide hands-on, technical support to Operations for production issues, customer concerns and other product management activities. Drawing upon your direct experience, you'll be providing both the strategic and day-to-day business leadership for Product Management and Engineering by providing banknote printing-process knowledge as well as an expertise in raw materials, substrates and compounds.  The ideal candidate will be skilled in providing competitive engineering capabilities (cost, capability, invention, etc.), accurate specifications and verification of new and existing products. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical insights for customer related product issues, new product development, and production support.
  • Support day-to-day production or quality issues as well as guide, and mentor production process engineers and machine operators.
  • Use applied Chemistry and Physics understandings to particles (inks, IR/UV, Magnetic) to establish comprehensive internal and external product specifications and standards.
  • Define product KPI’s to meet customer and business needs.
  • Plan, track and manage product readiness and process capability.
  • Approve product design and process readiness from R&D as well as any product or process changes from Operations.
  • Identify product cost improvement strategies based on component costs, yield, quality and uptime.  Utilize data driven improvement strategies.
  • Maintain safety and environmental standards during the execution of projects, trials and experiments.



  • BS in Engineering, Chemistry or similar discipline required.  
  • Masters in Engineering, Chemistry or similar discipline preferred.  
  • 8 years hands-on experience in Product Development or Product Management with continuous manufacturing processes required.
  • Proven ability to influence and lead others without formal authority, while maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Must be analytical with a strong attention to detail and have the ability to meet unexpected challenges in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes clearly to cross-functional teams.
  • Experienced with Six-Sigma Solving Techniques, Lean Concepts and 5S preferred. Project Management Certification or Training preferred.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing visual inspections systems & banknote circulation equipment (BEM) preferred.
  • Capable to travel domestic and internationally required.
