    Crane Currency is seeking an Accountant to join our US Government Product (USGP) team in Dalton, MA. In this role, your attention to detail will ensure that accounting transactions, reconciliations and controls are appropriately recorded for the US entities of the organization.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform defined accounting tasks within the Inventory and Manufacturing processes for USGP, working closely with the Cost Accountant and Assistant Controller for direction.
    • Assist on the coordination of the Crane Currency US entities compliance to SOX requirement at the direction of the Assistant Controller.
    • This includes monitoring and assisting with the completion of the RCM (risk control matrix) as well as performance of independent SOX control tests for other accounting areas.
    • Perform specific tasks within the fixed asset and CIP (construction in progress) accounting area as well as the GL accounting / integrity reporting as directed by the Senior Accounting Analyst.
    • Also assist with the coordination of central account reconciliations for the department as directed by the Assistant Controller.
    • Provide month end reporting tasks including running business entity trial balances, business object financial and trial balances for upload to HFM system.
    • Assist on HFM system consolidation and reporting requirements as directed by the Assistant Controller.
    • Perform specific tasks in the general accounting and accounts receivable billing areas.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
    • Three years’ experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience working with ERP systems such as JD Edwards preferred.
    • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
    • Ability to work within teams and on projects.
    • Ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience with inventory and cost accounting.
    • Familiarity with public company accounting, I.e. Sox compliance.

     

    The person selected for this position will need to demonstrate suitability for employment in a position of Public Trust consistent with our US Government contract requirements.
