    Teamwork is Currency at Crane


    The Desktop Engineer coordinates, implements and sustains a standardized and secure Client Operating System within the organization. This will be a hands-on role requiring Subject Matter Expertise of Client Operating Systems, scripting, deployment practices and overall management of end user hardware and software. Regular communication and escalation of issues to leadership is necessary with a solid ability to identify technical support trends, determine root cause and potential solutions addressing issues promptly and appropriately. This position will lead or participate in local and global projects related to the IT Client Services Platform, and will customize, test, deploy and maintain the operating system in an enterprise environment.  Additional responsibilities will include all aspects of Client Deployment and metrics reporting.  The ideal candidate will have a desire to mentor and work closely with junior members of the team. 


    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent level of education and experience to meet the requirements of the position 

    • Minimum 7 years of recent experience deploying, maintaining or supporting client based devices in an enterprise environment

    • Proven experience as a Technical Lead or Client Services Subject Mater Expert
    • Ability to automate processes utilizing Windows PowerShell
    • Experience with Domain and Operating System migrations
    • Excellent oral and written communication
    • Strong root cause analysis skills
    • Ability to work both collaboratively as a team player and independently as required.

    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, very fast paced environment

    • Exhibit a positive attitude and initiative 


    • Preference given for a degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science or Information Technology.
    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: Windows 10
