    Crane & Co., Inc., a premier manufacturer of currency and banknotes around the world, currently has an opening for a Senior Manufacturing / Business Analyst.


    This position will provide support and leadership to the IT activities at the Nashua production facility. As part of the operations team in Nashua, this position will understand and address the needs of that team in terms of manufacturing systems. The position provides technical/analytical assistance to all areas of production, as well as analyzing external customer production data, regarding continuous improvement efforts.


    Additionally, the position adds value to the organization by managing the data collection, access and leading projects to partner with local functional leaders in maintaining and enhancing the flow of quality, process, and production data by maximizing the potential of the MES operations support system. The position uses a robust knowledge of systems and processes to serve as a strategic interface between operations and the IT group to ensure effective linkage and system performance. Partnering with other critical teams in Finance, IT, and others, the role is responsible for developing and implementing detailed data analysis that supports both rapid response and strategic actionable initiatives based on past and current business trends.  


    This position is expected to work independently with minimal direction and able to prioritize the ever-changing importance of each accountability for this position and balance the time allocated to a task so as not to let one task dominate and others. Effectively managing multiple tasks and/or deadlines simultaneously with frequent interruptions is a regular challeng of this role.  Finally, this position will suggest, develop and monitor strategic Key Performance Indicators to help run the day-to-day operations and strategicall grow the enterprise.  Using data, he or she drives metrics in the supply chain group to help the company to world class performance.  Additional responsibilities include the development of dashboards to ensure the successful attainment of a high impact and effective organization ready to work on actionable manufacturing and business strategies. 


    • Manufacturing Execution System (50%)

      • Manage data collection, system access, and a user friendly environment by acting as the main point of contact for the Operations group.
      • Perform all required tasks to update and maintain master data and “site allowable” configuration.
      • Troubleshoot process and/or systems problems
      • Evaluate the current system state and identify opportunities for the site to further leverage the system to improve reporting, reduce costs, improve accountability, improve quality and enhance decision-making.
    • Design solutions to address business needs.   By working operation team leaders in Nashua and other IT professionals, this resource will deliver IT application solutions that will allow IT to advance the MES platform and solve the challenges that the operations team is facing
    • Provide IT site leadership for Nashua facility.   Be main point of contact for local IT employees. Establish local governance councils in the areas of Infrastructure, Applications to help the STG establish and prioritize business needs
    • Participate in the development/maintenance of Global application portfolio roadmaps to keep key software components and manufacturing applications in current releases



    Knowledge (Education/Training) or equivalent:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a Technical field
    • A minimum of five years experience with quality and/or manufacturing execution systems.
    • Proven experience in project management
    • Proven experience in GE Proficy, SQL, SSRS, and Visual Basic Applications preferred

    Technical and other Experience, Skills and Characteristics (e.g. statistical analysis, project management, initiative):

    • Demonstrated strength in being able to maintain effective work relationships to influence others without formal authority
    • Demonstrated successes in managing self – directed projects
    • Involvement in increasingly demanding interdisciplinary project roles, to include role of project leader
    • Strong technical writing and communication skills required. (Examples: Clear objectives; trial planning; sound analysis, conclusions and direction, etc.)
    • Proven high level of initiative with talent for anticipating and acting on next steps, at project, process, and organizational levels.
    • Proven ability to interact effectively and tactfully at all organizational levels and across all disciplines
    • Ability to become involved with customers and represent the Company with professionalism and confidence
    • Knowledge of operation’s computer systems and software to include the Microsoft Office Suite and Minitab Statistical Software
    • Working knowledge of Visual Basics, Proficy Database, Proficy Clients, Proficy Excel Add-in, and Proficy Administrator

    • Strong multitasking skills with a focus on detail orientation and accuracy
    • Strong interpersonal skills and proven experience successfully engaging in a team environment
    • Strong fact finding, interviewing, problem solving and data analysis skills
    • Ability to consistently behave in a way compliant with all Company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to Environment Health and Safety, ethics, confidentiality and code of conduct

    License or other requirements:

    • Ability to demonstrate and maintain suitability for employment in a position of Public Trust consistent with our US Government contract requirements
    • A signed Company Non-Disclosure Agreement on file in the Human Resources Department is required
    • Driver’s license and capability to travel locally to attend Company meetings, vendor presentations, technical seminars or any other event off-site or at other locations
