    Responsibilities

    Crane is looking for a Raw Materials Manufacturing Supervisor for our Dalton, MA facility. As the Raw Materials Supervisor, you will be accountable for the direct supervision for the Raw Materials operation at the Byron Weston facility. Accountable for the safe cost effective production of cotton and flax pulps which meet our customer specifications. Accountable for facilitating corporate initiatives including TPM, 5S and Continuous improvement projects with participation in related Kaizen events.

     

    • Ensure an effectively trained staff is maintained at all levels of the operation and that standard work is followed in safety, standard operating procedures, and quality methods.  Prepare employee performance reviews at the cadence necessary.
    • Track key performance indicators including metrics for Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery anticipating and correcting trends which would compromise achievement of targets
    • Produce efficient production schedules for pulping operations to meet company needs
    • Ensure materials and supplies are maintained at proscribed inventory levels

    Qualifications

    Required:

     

    • Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree plus three to five years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
    • Requires a working knowledge of equipment and production processes
    • General computer skills to include proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products (i.e. Excel and Word)
    • Demonstrated ability to learn and convey complex technical processes
    • Working knowledge of Raw Materials process preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal. The ability to communicate across the organization and with customer as well as vendors. History of working collaboratively with others.
    • Experience with Continuous Improvement. ( Lean manufacturing, six sigma, TPM, 5s and standard work)
    • Demonstrated analytical problem solving and trouble shooting ability
    • Working knowledge and experience with an efficient and robust Quality Management system
    • Ability to remain calm and interact effectively in high stress situations
    • Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Demonstrated ability to coach, lead and empower people
    • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability, resolve conflict and manage performance expectations
