    Do you want to be a key player with the fastest growing currency supplier in the world? Crane Currency in Dalton, MA is looking for a Project Engineering Manager to join our team. Drawing upon your expertise, you will manage all project (mechanical, electrical, process control, inspection) engineering, and capital projects for the manufacturing campus associated with upgrades, rebuilds, new capacities or capabilities and process enhancements. Accountable for achieving business objectives that ensure buildings, infrastructure and equipment are designed for safe, effective and efficient use by company associates.  Project costs are contained, and work is performed in a manner that is compliant with government regulations.  Manage department talent to ensure expertise for value added manufacturing processes are maintained within the business.


    Responsibilities Include: 

    • Develops and implements capital plans, which includes defining scope with internal customers, design and detailed engineering, project cost estimation, submitting appropriate justification and funding requests, and adhering to budget, schedule, safety, and quality commitments. 
    • Implements best-practices for project management and skill/competency management while managing internal and external resources including electrical, mechanical and vision engineering.
    • Responsible for forecasting the capital budgets for the coming years.
    • Administers department annual cost budgets.
    • Oversees development of employees within the departments ensuring training and development opportunities are provided for each employee’s continued growth and increasing contributions to the site. 
    • Ensure talent to support operational goals are maintained in disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, process control, and vision engineering.
    • Manages and/or oversees high profile projects within year


    • BS or MS in Engineering
    • 8+ years of experience in engineering field.
    • 3+ years of progressive management experience in engineering and/or maintenance.  Experience in pulp and paper industry a plus.
    • Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma desired.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in managing and overseeing large capital projects.
    • Demonstrated experience making decisions around the prioritizing and assignment of work flow within an engineering services group.
    • Successful track record responding to utility and equipment failures in support of 24/7 production operations.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated experience leading teams and developing engineering talent.
    • Strong leadership skills in a matrix environment.
    • Requires high energy and a willingness to make process improvements based on data and investigation.


    The person selected for this position will need to demonstrate suitability for employment in a position of Public Trust consistent with our US Government contract requirements.
