    Responsibilities

    Crane Currency is currently offering several full-time paid Co-Op Engineering positions for the Spring 2019 semester in our Alpharetta, GA facility. The successful candidate will have a strong mechancial aptitude, be detailed-oriented and be self-drivent to contribute directly on the delivery of the 2019 initiatives, goals and objectives. This position will be a member of a team that supports either our Manufacturing and/or Research & Development (R&D) departments.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Colaborate with Engineering team to create technical drawings as needed in building or modifying equipment
    • Perform engineering tasks and accurately complete calculations as required to ensure equipment meets design specifications
    • Perform field measurements and provide necessary documentation on existing equipment to ensure modifications can be implemented to meet design requirements
    • Work within cross-functional project teams to support Crane’s day-to-day Manufacturing and R&D processes and optimize, troubleshoot, and continuously improve manufacturing and quality processes
    • Develop technical knowledge around specialized processes and applications, as well as quality management system requirements, inspection technology, process documentation and corrective activity
    • Use problem-solving and analytical skills, including data analysis and interpretation, to assist in resolving engineering challenges
    • Cooperate with Supply Chain to assist in obaining quotes and pricing from vendors
    • Worked safely within a manufacturing and office environment and adhere to standard practices involving safety and personal protective equipment (PPE)
    • Maintain open communications and positive working relationships with staff
    • Perform basic, hands-on, mechanical assembly as required and in a safe, efficient manner
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Applicants must be enrolled in a Bachelor degree at an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering or related major field of study.
    • Available to work a full-time schedule, 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday
    • Knowledge and application of SolidWorks to design mechanical parts and assemblies
    • Relative experience using AutoCAD and the ability to create 2 dimensional drawings

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Strong mechanical aptitude
    • Knowledge of fabrication and machining processes
    • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, analytical/problem-solving abilities and organization
    • Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player
    • Superior written & verbal communication skills
    • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines
    • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams

     

    The person selected for this position will need to demonstrate suitability for employment in a position of Public Trust consistent with our US Government contract requirements.
