    As the Software & Design Engineer within the Research team in Alpharetta, GA, you can take your career to the next level with us. Our company is a fast-paced, rapidly growing global business with high expectations for superior quality products. This position will partly be designing visually engaging, state-of-the-art micro-optics security products.  Other responsibilities include; providing computer programming, mathematical analysis, graphic design, and software engineering of new techniques for creating customized configurations of micro-optic elements.

    • Design visually engaged, state-of-the-art micro-optics security products
    • Learn, modify, develop, and maintain custom in-house design software
    • Must have an interest in visual design, and working with visual artists/designers
    • Develop internal simulation software that is used to analyze and visualize micro-optic systems (experience with optics / optical science not a requirement)
    • Develop new techniques for creating customized configurations of micro-optic elements
    • Document technical and procedural process improvements with an eye toward automation
    • Provide technical support of lab-based manufacturing process on an as-needed basis
    • Familiarity with parallel processing, and IT infrastructure



    • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or similar discipline or equal combination of education and work experience. Advanced degree in computer science, math, or similar discipline such as Electrical Engineering focused on image processing or Computer Software focused on computer graphics is a plus
    • Minimum 4 years experience in a creative, image processing, computer software/graphics or technical field


    • Able to perform all computer functions as they pertain to this job, including but not limited to experience using MATLAB, Blender, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and similar products
    • Experience with Object Oriented Programming, code optimization, and front end application development (Experience with Linux setup a plus)
    • Interest in image processing or a related imaging field such as machine vision or digital photography
    • Experience with Python, C, C++, and CUDA C, three.js, GLSL highly preferred
    • Familiarity with relational databases a plus (SQL, noSQL)
    • Writes code that is clearly commented, diligently formatted, and thoughtfully abstracted towards reuse
    • Able to develop complicated algorithms to automate, simplify, and improve efficiency
    • Works with experienced engineers to learn a highly-technical process, and contributes to the advancement of the company’s capabilities in the field of micro-optics
    • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
    • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality
    • Establish clear objectives and day-to-day priorities for yourself. Have a high level of self-motivation
    • Knowledge of the following a plus: advanced mathematics, computational geometry, linear algebra, calculus, statistics, signal processing
    • Strong attention to detail. Organized and has the ability to multi-task
    • Strong sense of accountability for results
    • Willing to lead development on new projects as needed
    • Natural curiosity/ hacker mentality towards exploring the field of micro optics
    • Dependable, consistently at work and on time, follows instructions closely, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance
    • Observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly
    • Personal history conducive to receiving a US government security clearance
    • Balances team and individual responsibilities; Contributes to building a positive team spirit
