    The Principal Process Engineer position is ideal for an individual with hands-on working knowledge of process engineering tools. Offering full accountability, we will encourage you to ensure excellence as you work hand-in-hand with our strong, capable team. Qualities such as internally motivated and results-oriented, and strong leadership capabilities are integral in this role.   The Engineer is the lead process expert for our paper mill operations charged with ensuring that paper making processes are consistently capable of meeting customer requirements; analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues that cause misses in safety, quality, delivery, and cost; driving continuous improvement to meet performance metrics; analyzing and validating new equipment and process technology; and leading a strong, capable team of process engineers.


     

    Qualifications

    • Relevant Undergraduate degree in Engineering/ Science, preferably in Chemical Engineering or Pulp and Paper Engineering or Technology.
    • A minimum of 5 years of industrial, technical experience in process engineering for a continuous manufacturing process.  Pulp- and/or paper-making industry experience is highly desirable.
    • Proven leadership abilities with direct teams as well as cross-functional teams.  Ability to influence others to drive progress.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Demonstrated capability to manage projects to successful completion.
    • Strong communication, facilitation, and teamwork abilities.
    • Certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt preferred.
    • Knowledge of quality testing procedures relevant to intermediate process testing and final product quality.
    • Experience working on projects and processes to develop systems.
    • Internally motivated and results oriented.
    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment using advanced multitasking skills to participate in several projects at once.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
