    Crane Currency is a fast moving Global company that designs and produces banknotes and associated security products.  With manufacturing facilities located over four sites, not only does Crane Currency produce the paper upon which all U.S. currency is printed, we also provide paper, printing and security technology for more than 50 nations around the world. Our award winning Motiontm technology is the clear leader in counterfeit prevention and is featured on the new U.S. $100 dollar bill. Our customers are the Central Banks and State Printing Works of countries scattered from the Philippines to Chile who hold an extremely high demand for product and process security.


    Crane is looking for a Manager of Quality Assurance to join our Nashua, NH manufacturing location. We are seeking a motivated leader who will play a key role in the leadership and management efforts in creating, maintaining and achieving effective business processes in accordance with company Mission, Vision and Values. The successful person will lead global quality initiatives and improvement in areas such as Process Control and Improvement System (PCIS), customer complaint process, new product development quality planning and corrective and preventive action. This position will partner with staff and operations to define strategy for accelerating continuous improvements, process control and overall quality assurance. Key responsibilities include:

    • Site ISO9001 Management Representative. Ensure that the NH site maintains its certification status.
    • Oversight of the Quality Assurance lab including the QA Supervisor and Technicians. 
    • Partner with Operations and team leadership to implement and manage effectiveness of process control and improvement activities through the monitoring of metrics, the development and completion of initiatives, and auditing as required.
    • Lead and direct activities to ensure the development of necessary skills sets for ongoing process control and improvement across Crane Security Technology Group locations.  Define and integrate process improvement leadership skills within the Quality team.
    • Direct quality-related initiatives and activities for all aspects of the Process Control and Improvement System (PCIS) – Process Focus, Problem Solving and Variation Reduction.
    • Direct efforts to maintain PCIS in accordance with company, customer and product certification requirements, including any necessary system certifications (e.g., ISO, etc.).
    • Develop, integrate and support lean methods and external quality standards into the PCIS as necessary to ensure system compliance, effectiveness and sustainability.
    • Collaborate on process control and improvement initiatives with New Product Introduction Process (PRIME) through product launch and calibration of product benchmarks through product review), Supply Chain (supplier management, supplier Production Part Approval Process and receiving inspection) and Customer Care (customer interaction and issue resolution).



    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Business; Master’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 8 years progressive experience in quality roles with proven results demonstrating bottom-line performance impact.
    • Minimum of 5 years successful experience leading both large and small teams in a high matrix environment. Must have demonstrated people management and employee development skills for direct and indirect reports in a fast-paced, quality-focused manufacturing or production environment.
    • Experience creating and maintaining budgets to meet company financial objectives.
    • Experience with high-tech, pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
    • Expert knowledge in ISO9001 and industry specific standards.     
    • Strong proficiency and experience developing, deploying and sustaining quality systems.
    • Ability to effectively develop internal processes to address changes to the external/customer requirements.
    • Must be a dynamic self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment establishing quality planning methods, product validation and on-going product approval standards.
    • Strong Continuous Improvement/Lean experience and mindset with demonstrated track record of problem solving (Black Belt Preferred, but not required).
    • Strong process and workshop facilitation skills - must exhibit excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills delivering information clearly and factually as demonstrated through regular and positive engagement with various stakeholders from executive level to shop floor.
    • Strong leadership and influencing skills, including Team building and talent development.
    • Confident decision making abilities channeled through strong business acumen and fact-based analysis.
