    Crane is currently seeking a Security Manager for our Dalton, MA facility.  This is an exciting site leadership role responsible for internal investigations, enhancing and maintaining the site’s security management system, security processes and electronic security systems, including emergency practices, personnel security, and physical security. The site leader is the liaison to state, local and federal law enforcement. The position manages site projects that provide solutions to integrate various systems and processes into a single collaborative program. This includes the ability to administer and converge disparate site systems, processes and procedures so that they work together to reduce risk, automate processes and improve efficiency. This position manages security audits or reviews, major event security and leverages an extensive background in security concepts and global investigations.

     

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Leads internal investigations and other types of investigations assigned by the VP of Security.
    • Directs engagement with state, local and federal law enforcement agencies, DHS, and FEMA.
    • Creates opportunities to improve security operations across all Dalton sites.
    • Lead efforts to maintain and enhance the security management system and serve as point of contact for security audits.
    • Serve as the subject matter expert and system administrator for all physical security systems at the site.
    • Direct day to day operations for armed security officers across a dispersed site.
    • Lead site security planning and strategic investments.
    • Interface with IT to ensure appropriate use of corporate infrastructure and resources.
    • Perform risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend strategies for their mitigation.
    • Perform site audits and security contract reviews.
    • Serve as a back-up in the absence of the Security Systems Manager.
    • Develop and refine physical security policy.
    • Take a leadership role in assessing the physical security of Crane employees, assets and its products by advocating, recommending, and implementing changes in Crane’s policies and procedures.
    • This position may be required to obtain certification as a Process Excellence Practitioner or Six Sigma Green Belt and will actively work to promote the use of Lean Six Sigma to drive improvements in safety, quality, and productivity by engaging employees through continuous improvement activities.

     

     

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • BS in Criminal Justice, Security or any combination of a 4 year degree and significant law enforcement experience. Master’s Degree preferred.
    • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification or attainment within 12 months of appointment; Certified in Security Supervision and Management (CSSM) within 120 days of appointment. Minimum of 10 years relevant functional experience required, preferably in corporate security, law enforcement or military security. At least three years should be in a site management or project management role.
    • Minimum of two years of internal and due diligence investigation experience
    • Background that demonstrates flexibility, professionalism, responsiveness, and the ability to work abstractly.
    • Previous site security management experience for dispersed locations.
    • Previous security contract management.
    • Previous intelligence and security information management experience, preferred.
    • Ability to develop, evaluate policies and practices and internal controls considering emerging technologies and industry best practices and incorporate them as appropriate.
    • Demonstrated ability to locate and implement security vendors and to anticipate future demands of the site.
    • Strong communication project management skills, the ability to think strategically within a multi-disciplinary team and interact successfully with leaders of the site and company.
    • Must possess and maintain Massachusetts Class “A” firearms permit with no restrictions or ability to obtain one within 160 days.
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history and means to travel to division/company locations at a moments notice.
    • Travel up to 30%, frequent travel to Boston, other domestic and international locations.
    • Must be able to submit to and pass company drug and alcohol testing on short notice on a recurring basis.
    • U.S. Citizenship and a valid U.S. Passport.
    • In depth knowledge of electronic security systems.
    • Proven ability to manage budgets.
    • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
    • Previous experience managing international projects, personnel and relationships.
    • Proven project management and personnel leadership experience/skill.
    • Microsoft Office experience.
