    Crane Currency is a stand-alone business within the Payment & Merchandising Technologies segment of Crane Co. It is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts with operations in Dalton, Massachusetts; Nashua, New Hampshire; Alpharetta, Georgia; Tumba, Sweden and Hal Far, Malta.

    Responsibilities

    Leadership is Currency at Crane

    Reporting to the Site Leader, the Operations Manager will have  direct responsibility for Operations in either Raw Materials, Papermaking, or Converting.  40% of their responsibility will be the day to day management and 60% will be Continuous Improvement execution following the Crane Business Systems model.

    The Operations Manager will manage Operations Leaders in their area to ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Growth/Productivity are met.  They will work with area management to engage the PSSs and manufacturing employees in the Crane Business System; provide visible support, foster open communications, and coach and develop the Operations Leaders, Production Shift Supervisors and manufacturing Associates in a safety conscious environment.

     

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Accountable for the safe operation of the manufacturing areas under their direction. This includes making sure processes are audited to ensure safe work practices are adhered to along with required PPE.
    • Accountable for quality performance through Operations Leader and Production Shift Supervisors.
    • Scheduling and adjusting department cross training strategy for associates to meet production goals.
    • Actively support, participate and lead continuous improvement projects aimed at decreasing cost and improving safety and quality. Ensure that gains are maintained and audited.
    • Leader in implementing CBS Tools in Department. Individual will be expected to be an active participant in all relevant CBS activities.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • BS degree in business, engineering, paper technology or one of the physical sciences

    • Five years of manufacturing experience with steadily increasing responsibility
    • Three years of direct management responsibility of Operations leaders, process engineering or support function areas

    Preferred:

    • Pulp or Paper Manufacturing experience preferred
    • Responsible for monthly operating reviews
    • ISO9001 – 2015 Quality Management System experience
    • CAPA Investigation participation
    • Proficient or demonstrated ability to learn Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. Working knowledge of Plant Applications, Active Factory, JDE., desirable
    • Demonstrated ability to learn and convey complex technical processes
    • Demonstrated ability to coach and maximize employee performance
    • Demonstrated analytical problem solving and troubleshooting ability
