As an Electrical Engineer, you can take your career to the next level with us. In this key position, you will play an important role designing, developing, and modifying power distribution systems throughout the Dalton campus. Responsible for managing projects ranging from basic motor selections to complete electrical infrastructure modifications and new system implementation, including machine drive system designs and installations. Works with Maintenance management and outside vendors to develop and maintain annual PM programs for switch gear/transformer testing, transformer oil analysis, IR scanning, power line right-of-way clearing, distribution pole testing/replacement and arc flash studies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Promote safety leadership and a safe work environment throughout the company.
  • Responsible for engineering power distribution and machine drive system projects from inception to completion.
  • Designs, cost estimating, budgets and project management of Capital and Maintenance related Electrical projects.
  • Troubleshooting Electrical and Drive systems problems.
  • Providing support to other engineering and maintenance departments.
  • Direct interaction with electrical utilities, suppliers, and contractors for services and equipment.
  • Provide professional leadership to ensure successful project designs, installations and operation.
  • Work as a part of a team with engineering, maintenance, and manufacturing personnel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical/Power Distribution.
  • 5 or more years of experience with power distribution and drive systems
  • Ability to generate and evaluate technical specifications for electrical systems.
  • Excellent knowledge in troubleshooting and resolving electrical and drive problems and issues.
  • Proven ability to prepare and manage budgets and projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with personnel at all levels within an organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, tact and diplomacy at all levels for dealing with suppliers and building/leading teams.
