Crane Currency is a stand-alone business within the Payment & Merchandising Technologies segment of Crane Co. It is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts with operations in Dalton, Massachusetts; Nashua, New Hampshire; Alpharetta, Georgia; Tumba, Sweden and Hal Far, Malta.

 

Responsibilities

As Quality Systems Manager with Crane in Dalton, MA, you will be responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining the robust health of the Quality strategy, policies, processes, standards and systems for Crane Currency’s U.S. Government Products business and its supply chain to operate within. This includes auditing to ensure compliance, including interfacing with customer and third-party audits to maintain certification to required industry standards including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Regulate, control, and improve the Quality of all processes throughout the business and the final product through continuous improvement and risk mitigation.  Partner with Process Owners to assure that internal and external contractual requirements are met and that Quality systems are used effectively to meet system targets and business needs. Position has people and budgetary management responsibility.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of strategy, policies, processes and best-practice procedures to aid and improve operational performance
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Establish accountability and ownership for the execution and continuous improvement of the key systems within USGP’s QMS including: Supplier Quality, Quality Control, Internal Audit, Corrective Action, Process Change, Document Control, and Equipment Validation.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high performing Quality System team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value, and continuous improvements. Motivate the team to operational success.
  • Responsible for achieving department budget and forecast.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering, Scientific, Technical, Quality, or Management field.
  • 3+years’ experience working in a Quality or Validation function role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Minitab.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Experience with Validation through IQ/OQ/PQ methodologies.
  • Experience in continuous manufacturing processes is preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification is a plus.
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) from Automotive industry or Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) experience is a plus.
