  The Director of Information Technology is responsible for:

  • A team of 5-7 direct reports across 5 global locations
  • ERP (JDE, SAP), Business Applications and Analytics, IT Program Management, Information Security, IT Operations, and Client Services
  • Setting the strategic vision and road-map for the IT organization and technical solutions to effectively support the growth to be the #1 player in the market
  • Sophisticated operational technology running on a 24/5 basis


   In the 1st year, you will…

  • Travel to meet and get to know the IT team, business leaders, and their technology requirements
  • Learn the company’s strategy and business model; develop a thorough understanding of the current state of IT and bench strength
  • Develop a road map for application standardization
  • Identify opportunities for more cost-effective solutions
  • Evaluate information security system practices, policies, and procedures and align with the secure paper industry
  • Develop a secure architecture for the operational technology environment


   Key Responsibilities

  • Effective execution of day to day business support requirements (infrastructure, cyber security, operations, compliance, application, and client services)
  • Key strategic business initiatives (product development, global collaboration, IoT, and productivity)
  • Drive a consistent and robust Intellectual capital process to recruit, retain, and develop associates in the IT organization capable of supporting the maintenance of systems, a compliant and secure environment, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This will also require the IT leader to stay abreast of technology, security, and compliance trends to drive change and innovation that support profitable growth at Crane Currency.


   The Day to Day

    • Develop and drive a strategic vision and continuous improvement road-map for a global IT environment that optimizes organizational and system performance consistent with the strategy of the business
    • Stay abreast of emerging technology, security, and resource trends.
    • Effectively translate technical concepts to meaningful information for a broad audience
    • Establish and communicate goals and objectives, routinely measure and review performance, and hold team accountable to progress on goals and results.
    • Manage third party IT vendor relationships and agreements, contract negotiations, and delivery on all services according to SLA’s
    • Drive and deliver on committed time lines and results for on-going strategic and operational initiatives
    • Provide routine updates to senior management on latest IT trends, status of key projects, and performance of IT organization
    • Build strong working relationships with CIO of Crane and functional leaders of Crane Currency to clearly understand expectations and align those with results of the IT function
    • Participate as an active member of the CFO leadership team and contribute to regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings
    • Lead by example with the Crane Business System (CBS) philosophy in driving standard work, KPI management, and process improvement activities.
    • Coach and mentor the IT organization and foster an environment of effective communication, transparency, and personal development
    • Manage global IT expense and capital budgets. Routinely assess changing requirements and trends that impact the budget in accordance with the needs of the business. Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of systems and processes to deliver cost effective solutions
    • Ensure the completion of Crane Global Information Security projects in addition to proactive support of on-going Currency information security monitoring and remediation requirements, user awareness and education, and implementation of necessary security policies






  • Possess a minimum of 10 years leading a diverse group of professionals in a global IT organization
  • BS Degree in Information Technology or related discipline; MBA Desired.
  • Experience with various ERP platforms (JD Edwards preferred) in a multi-platform environment
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Knowledge of processes for implementing version updates, new implementations, and acquisition integration is required
  • Experience with a variety of WAN technologies, (MPLS, SDWAN, etc.)
  • Experience in cyber security education, monitoring, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated experience and proven track record in building effective teams, recruiting bench strength, identifying, evaluating, and developing associates.
