Crane is seeking a dynamic Senior Quality Engineer with the ability to facilitate and drive problem solving activities aimed at identifying and improving manufacturing, quality, and customer issues. Your strong understanding of quality and statistical tools, as well as experience in their practical application, will be imperative to consistently deliver work products that exceed expectations. In this role, you will interact and build cooperative working relationships with all departments, key customers, and other Crane divisions.

 

This position will drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and systems. 

 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Apply sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies; identifying & resolving issues
  • Analyze data: identify quality & defect trends, mitigate/prevent recurrences
  • Utilize advanced problem-solving tools for failure investigations; identify root cause & implement strong corrective/preventative action
  • Develop MSA program for existing equipment & associated testing techniques
  • Support non-conforming process; including Material Review Board (MRB)
  • Develop Robust Reporting System ensuring accuracy of department KPIs
  • Serve as Lead to support QMS & New Product Development
  • Perform QMS Audits & support Customer and Supplier Audits
  • Quality Project Lead for Reduction in Defects and Processing/Testing Variabilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or similar field
  • Minimum of six years in quality, manufacturing or process engineering roles
  • Strong knowledge of quality engineering disciplines & manufacturing concepts
  • Proven results in key continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proven ability to multi-task in dynamic environment
  • Excels at prioritizing, communicating, and escalating when appropriate
  • Project Management: from development of scope to effectiveness of implementation
  • Statistical methods: population sampling, hypothesis testing, SPC, DOE, Gage R&Rs
  • Problem solving techniques, such as 8-D, 5-why, Fishbone, PFMEA
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Minitab
  • ASQ Member, certified Engineer, Auditor, Lean or Six Sigma Black/Green belt Desired
